Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative at the MMC Southern Campus in Lakewood, NJ. This role focuses on delivering excellent customer service while collecting accurate demographic and insurance data and guiding patients through the registration process.

Responsibilities include interviewing patients, verifying insurance, obtaining signatures, and ensuring completeness of forms and documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Customer service experience required.
• Medical terminology experience preferred.
• Patient Access experience preferred.
• Must report to Monmouth Medical Center Southern campus in Lakewood, NJ.
• 40 hours per week, day shift.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to all patients, colleagues and other external and internal customers.
• Interview patients, family members and other parties to gather demographic and financial information for scheduling, pre-registration and/or registration.
• Obtain and document all demographic information to accurately identify the patient; verify insurance information and authorization status as needed.
• Ensure all orders/prescriptions have proper signatures and are linked to the correct encounter where applicable.
• Meet and exceed department goals for accuracy, point-of-service collections and productivity.
• Ensure all required forms are provided, explained and signed by the patient or approved person.
• Inform patients of financial responsibility and collect appropriate payments for services.
