RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative for RWJ Rahway Hospital. The role requires accurate patient registration, insurance verification, and collection of payments to ensure a smooth intake experience for patients and families.

The ideal candidate will have high school education and experience in medical billing or patient access, with strong communication skills and computer proficiency. The position is fulltime, daytime hours, based at 865 Stone Street in Rahway, NJ.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred experience in medical insurance verification and authorization.
• Patient Access experience preferred.
• Knowledge of registration processes and billing regulations (Non-federal and Federal) including state programs such as Charity Care.
• Medical terminology and computer skills beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately and collect demographic information.
• Verify insurance and obtain required documentation for billing.
• Collect applicable payments and ensure a seamless registration experience.
• Coordinate with nursing and ancillary departments to support patient flow.
• Assist in training and development of registration staff.
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered service in stressful situations.
