Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas (CHC/SEK) is seeking a Registration Clerk I to support clinical services by ensuring accurate patient demographics and documentation. You will be the first point of contact, handling check-ins, scheduling, and answering questions, while guiding patients through the process and protecting confidentiality.

The role emphasizes data integrity, insurance verification, payment posting, and coordination with resources such as translation and benefits.

Qualifikationen

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in clinic, healthcare setting, or call center preferred.
• Completion of Registration Clerk I competency checklist within 6 months.
• MOAB De-escalation training within 6 months.
• BLS certification required within 90 days.

Aufgaben

• Check patients in and out, schedule follow-ups, and answer questions in person or by phone.
• Oversee waiting area, coordinate patient flow, and report issues to Practice Management.
• Verify and update patient demographics, insurance, and payer information.
• Verify coverage, identify co-pays, and collect information to prevent claim denials.
• Collect and post patient payments and reconcile accounts.
• Discuss financial assistance options and process applications.
• Connect patients with clinic resources such as translation or benefits services.
• Follow opening/closing procedures and secure the building.
