Job summary

Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas (CHC/SEK) seeks a Registration Clerk to manage patient demographics, insurance data, and payments in a busy clinic environment.

You will greet patients, verify coverage, collect co-pays, and assist with financial assistance applications while maintaining HIPAA compliance and excellent customer service. Training will include MOAB de-escalation and BLS requirements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Healthcare or clinic experience preferred.
• Complete Registration Clerk I competency checklist within 6 months of hire.
• MOAB de-escalation training within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Check patients in and out and schedule follow-up appointments, providing courteous service.
• Oversee waiting area, coordinate patient flow, and report issues to Practice Management.
• Verify and update patient demographics, insurance and payer information; ensure accuracy of data entry.
• Collect and post patient payments; ensure reconciliation.
• Assist with financial assistance applications and connect patients to clinic resources.
