Job summary

Qualifications

• One year of customer service experience.
• High School education or equivalent preferred.
• Fluent in Spanish strongly preferred.
• Basic proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• One year of experience working with medical terminology, procedures, diagnosis codes, and insurance strongly preferred.
• Able to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
• Able to accurately enter and interpret data.
• Able to adapt and react calmly under stressful conditions.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and families in person or by phone and collect demographics, third party payer, financial, and medical information for scheduling, admission, or registration.
• Coordinate patient transfers/admissions with hospital departments and physicians as appropriate.
• Obtain and verify third party payer information and necessary authorizations.
• Document activities in the patient management system and communicate with departments to resolve issues.
• Inform patients of deductibles, co-pays, and out-of-pocket costs and collect payments when required.
• Ensure accuracy of registrations and resolve discrepancies with QA processes.
• Assist with scheduling Health System services and managing patient flow.
