• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Exceptional customer service skills required.
• Data entry and/or PC experience required.
• Medical terminology coursework or knowledge required.
• Positive service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills required.
• Ability to apply growth and development knowledge to patient care across the life span.

Responsabilidades

• Register/Pre Register and/or Admit properly identified patients; verify active insurance eligibility.
• Screen, educate and assist patients eligible for Medicaid, HCAP and Charity; inform them of financial assistance options.
• Generate patient estimates and collect insurance copays and patient balances; inform about payment options; post payments at service time.
• Conduct medical necessity screening for all Medicare patients and manage ABN; obtain signatures as required.
• Complete all forms including general consent, HIPAA, Surprise Billing Act, IMM, MOON, etc.
• QA on accounts from other departments and provide feedback to educators as needed.
• Gather data for scheduling a patient appointment when necessary.
• If on 3rd shift in ER discharge, complete bucket process and prepare itineraries.
• Stay informed of regulations affecting collections and uncompensated care guidelines.
• Serve as liaison between facility and patient/family to resolve issues and explain procedures and policies.
• Participate in training and shadowing; provide a positive learning environment and mentoring.
• Problem-solve and assist all customer groups; support mission and values of the system.
