2000 Edward Elmhurst Healthcare is seeking a Patient Service Representative I at EMH Main Hospital Elmhurst. This part-time role (24 hours/week) involves greeting and registering patients, collecting data, and ensuring accurate scheduling and billing in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Associate degree in business or healthcare preferred.
1–2 years of registration, scheduling, patient accounts, cash collections or customer service experience in a healthcare setting.
Knowledge of health insurances, medical terminology and anatomy.
Strong data entry and keyboarding skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Bilingual skills.

Responsibilities

Perform patient registration in a courteous and professional manner according to established policies and procedures.
Greet and register patients; collect required data for pre-registration and registration.
Enter and verify data in the hospital computer system and process transactions.
Follow HIPAA, EMTALA, payer and other regulations for registration and data handling.
Coordinate with physicians and staff for orders, admissions and scheduling.
Assist with cash collection, billing processes and related duties as assigned.
