Edward Elmhurst Health is seeking a Patient Service Representative I to greet and register patients, collect data for pre-registration, and coordinate with patients and providers. You will verify insurance coverage and assist with pre-certification while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

The role requires strong data entry, Microsoft Office skills, and healthcare experience. This is a full-time-like schedule (32 hours/week) based in Elmhurst, IL with day shifts and no travel.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or GED required.
• Minimum of one year of registration, scheduling, patient accounts, cash collections or customer service experience in a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of health insurances, medical terminology and anatomy.
• Strong data entry and keyboarding skills.

Responsibilities

• Greets and registers patients.
• Collects and analyzes data required to pre-register and register patients.
• Reviews and records data and processes transactions into the hospital computer system.
• Verifies insurance coverage and obtains pre-certification for required payers/services.
