Job summary

UVA Health is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to deliver seamless registration, insurance verification, and patient access services across outpatient areas. You will welcome patients, verify information, collect signatures, and support financial assistance resources in a fast-paced environment at Prince William Medical Center.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent.
• Customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming patients and completing registration and check-in processes.
• Verifying demographic information, insurance coverage, and required documentation.
• Collecting patient signatures and ensuring registration records are complete and accurate.
• Assisting patients with financial assistance resources and helping eligible individuals navigate application processes.
• Supporting scheduled appointments as well as walk-in services including laboratory visits, imaging, EKGs, and other outpatient services.
• Responding to departmental communications, workflow updates, and system changes.
• Collaborating with teammates and clinical departments to ensure patients move efficiently through the care process.
• Floating between multiple outpatient registration areas including MRI, Surgical Services, Main Radiology, Health Center, and other registration locations as operational needs evolve.
