Job summary

Talentify is seeking an Admissions Clerk for a hospital in Kentucky. The role focuses on registering patients efficiently, directing them to appropriate areas, and assisting with discharge documentation.

You will serve as the receptionist for in-person and phone inquiries, handling routine information and signatures per policy. Responsibilities include managing patient charts, schedules, payments, and basic cashier duties while coordinating with staff and departments to ensure smooth admissions

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3–6 months on-the-job training to attain proficiency.
• Proficient with routine office equipment and hospital billing terminology(ICD-10/CPT).

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors in person or by phone in a courteous manner.
• Provide general information about the hospital and patient status per guidelines and obtain required signatures.
• Operate phone system, paging, and staff communications; maintain records as needed.
• Assist in admitting patients and arranging transfers or transportation when required.
• Maintain inpatient rosters, beds, and elective admission schedules; contact patients when rooms are available.
• Prepare records for admission, payment, and discharge; handle money and issue receipts.
• Pull patient charts, manage appointment schedules, and safeguard hospital keys.
• Assist patients with mobility and transfer to vehicles if needed.
• Operate office equipment and perform cashier duties related to payments.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
