Job summary

Grady Health System in Atlanta, GA seeks a Patient Access Representative to manage intake and patient registration. You will interview patients, schedule appointments, verify demographics and insurance, and handle POS collections to support hospital revenue.

The role requires at least 1 year in customer service and a high school diploma or GED. Rotating weekends and a full-time schedule are involved in the on-site hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to verify information and navigate complex processes.

Responsibilities

• Accurately identifies patients during check-in/arrival, promoting patient safety and preventing duplicate records in the hospital system.
• Calculates amounts due from the patient and collects point-of-service payments.
• Ensures each patient has proper identification and signs authorization of treatment.
• Enters patient demographics into the hospital information system in line with accuracy standards.
• Identifies, adds and verifies insurance information on patient accounts.
• Obtains signatures for consents and other required documents; adheres to regulatory requirements.
• Schedules patient appointments accurately.
• Verifies patient financial responsibility by reviewing FPL status and insurance cards.
• Performs Filing Order functions per birthday/gender rules and payer requirements in Epic.
• Conducts accurate patient interviews.
• Verifies third party payer information and obtains necessary authorizations/pre-certifications.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
