Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Patient Access Registrar to coordinate patient access across the revenue cycle, from scheduling to registration and denial management. You will reconcile ADT entries, verify insurance, and collect payments while maintaining HIPAA privacy and providing a warm patient experience.

The role requires high school completion and 2 years of healthcare experience (or 1 year in medical/billing) preferrred, with strong communication and the ability to work under pressure in a hospital

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in healthcare or medical/billing settings preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Register patients at bedside and ensure accurate demographic and insurance data.
• Confirm insurance eligibility and discuss patient financial responsibility.
• Counsel patients on coverage and expected liability; collect payments (co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles).
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient confidentiality.
• Serve as a resource for ADT registration and coordinate with clinical partners.
