Qualifications

• Meets with patients or caregivers to exchange required information and documentation.
• Explains processes clearly and answers questions.
• Coordinates with unit staff to determine patient placement.
• Verifies insurance benefits and obtains precertifications/authorizations when needed.
• Accurately collects and enters demographic, billing, and clinical information in the registration system.

Responsibilities

• Meets with patients or caregivers to exchange required information and documentation, providing clear explanations of processes and addressing any questions or concerns.
• Communicates with unit staff and other personnel to coordinate necessary details and determine patient placement.
• Verifies insurance benefits, obtains precertification/authorization when needed, and ensures verification of medical necessity.
• Determines and collects required payments, including co-pays, deductibles, and coinsurance, or refers patients to financial counselors for support.
• Accurately obtains, reviews, and enters all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information in the registration system in a timely manner.
