Job summary

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• Medical or healthcare office experience preferred.
• Fluent in Spanish preferred.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Able to accurately enter and interpret data.
• Able to adapt and react calmly under stressful conditions.
• Able to relate cooperatively with clients and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and families in person or on the telephone.
• Obtains demographic, payer, financial, medical information to schedule/register patients.
• Obtains authorization, referrals, and collects payments as required.
• Complies with HIPAA and EMTALA regulations.
• Reviews and verifies third-party payer information and authorizations.
• Documents activity in the patient registration system.
• Schedules physician or hospital services and confirms appointments.
