Job summary

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• Medical or healthcare office experience preferred.
• Fluent in Spanish preferred.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Able to accurately enter and interpret data.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and families in person or on the telephone to schedule or register services.
• Obtain demographic, third party payer, financial, medical information, and identification.
• Obtain authorization and referrals and collect payments as required.
• Comply with HIPAA and EMTALA regulations.
• Verify payer information and secure authorization/referral.
• Document all activity in the QA system and in the patient record.
• Notify patients of deductibles, co-pays, and balances; collect payments.
• Coordinate with departments and co-workers to meet patient needs.
