Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a Part-time, PRN Patient Access Account Specialist to perform outpatient and inpatient registration and insurance verification. The role requires collecting patient payments and ensuring financial eligibility including Medicare requirements and payer pre-certifications.

The ideal candidate will have strong customer service experience, familiarity with medical terminology, and the ability to analyze data for effective decision making.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of customer service experience.
• HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA certification within one year of hire is required or pursued.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and diagnostic/procedural coding is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs outpatient and inpatient registration and insurance verification functions.
• Collects patient financial liability payments.
• Ensures patients meet financial requirements including Medicare medical necessity, payer pre-certifications and referrals.
• Provides general information to hospital users, patients, families and physician offices.
• Distributes analytical reports and supports performance improvement activities.
