• Previous hospital experience as admissions representative preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines.

• Customer services experience required.
• High School Graduate or GED Equivalent Required (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires).

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients or representatives to obtain demographics and insurance information.
• Secures eligibility, benefits and authorizations as applicable.
• Works with Admitting department, PBX operator and reception areas.
• Inputs and retrieves data on a computer; communicates with patients across age groups.
• Maintains proficiency in medical terminology; may handle special projects with deadlines.
