Job summary

Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an experienced Patient Access Registrar for our Rehabilitation department who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

The role requires excellent patient service, verification of insurance information, and the ability to communicate financial obligations clearly. Employment is full-time with day shifts and a 40-hour work week, including weekend considerations per department need.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Minimum 1 year in a healthcare setting, including patient registration and/or eligibility and benefits.
• Knowledge of government payer rules and regulations; familiarity with TPLs, workers’ compensation, and other payment sources.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure with minimal supervision.
• Basic knowledge of office equipment and PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent patient service and assist in problem resolution as needed.
• Verify insurance eligibility and ensure patient liabilities are paid at or near the time of service.
• Communicate insurance coverages, benefits, and patient obligations clearly to patients or designees.
• Coordinate bed placement according to hospital guidelines and staffing needs.
• Assist with training of new team members and escalate issues to management when necessary.
• Complete follow-ups in accordance with department policy.
