Job summary

Endeavor Health in Chicago, IL is seeking a Patient Access Representative I to greet patients, register them in Admitting and Outpatient Registration, and verify demographics and insurance while explaining financial responsibilities.

You will work Monday–Friday 9am–5:30pm with rotating Saturdays; strong interpersonal skills and knowledge of Meditech are preferred for this full-time role with solid benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school graduate or equivalent; prefer minimum one year college course work.
• Minimum six months experience in hospital or clinic registration/admitting, scheduling, patient financial services or medical records departments, or in a medical/physician practice setting.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills; able to interact with multiple departments; basic medical terminology and anatomy knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Greets and assists all patients, visitors, physicians and employees promptly and in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.
• Accurately and efficiently completes patient registration in Admitting, Outpatient Registration and Emergency Department.
• Verifies insurance benefits and eligibility; pre-authorizes or obtains referrals when applicable; collects payments and deposits; documents in B/AR system.
