Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with patient registrations or scheduling in healthcare preferred.
• Strong data entry and keyboarding skills; knowledge of medical terminology may help.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient registration functions in a courteous and professional manner according to policies.
• Greets and registers patients.
• Collects and analyzes all required data for pre-registration and registration; interacts with patients and families.
• Uses hospital systems to retrieve and enter physician orders, test codes, and scheduling information; ensures HIPAA compliance.
• Scans insurance cards, IDs, referrals, authorizations, and other documents into the imaging system; distributes required forms.
• Coordinates admissions and bed placement with clinical staff; maintains census records and tracks admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Performs registration-related billing tasks, payments, and follow-up communications as needed.
