Job summary

Down East Community Hospital is seeking a PRN registration clerk to efficiently process all patients through front desk, switchboard and registration while maintaining courtesy and professionalism. You will educate patients on topics including Free Care, Advanced Directives, Patient Rights, Privacy Practice notices, and the Advanced Beneficiary Notice.

ESSENTIAL duties include handling all switchboard calls, verifying patient information, assessing insurance coverage, preparing preop and surgery

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required with on-the-job training.
• Experience with various computer systems and typing.
• Knowledgeable in medical terminology and health insurance plans.

Responsibilities

• Handle front desk reception, switchboard, and registration efficiently and politely.
• Verify patient information and assess insurance coverage.
• Prepare preoperative and surgery paperwork and maintain registration records.
• Ensure privacy notices are provided and compliance policies are followed.
• Assist staff with outpatient and inpatient registration processes.
