Job summary

Howard Brown Health is seeking a Supervisor, Business Operations to oversee front-end patient services and PSR teams at our Chicago site. You will blend patient-centered leadership with data-driven operations, optimizing scheduling, registrations, and revenue cycle processes.

Reporting to site leadership, you will drive staffing strategies, monitor KPIs, and ensure HIPAA compliance while supporting equity and inclusive care for LGBTQ+ patients across the Chicago community.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years of professional medical practice experience; 2+ years lead experience preferred.
• Knowledge of front-end patient accounts receivable: insurance verification, eligibility, upfront collections.
• Strong workforce management and financial stewardship with scheduling within monthly budgets.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with diverse patient populations and multi-disciplinary staff.
• Understanding of integrated care models and HIPAA compliance.
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
• Analytical and critical thinking abilities for operational decisions.
• Ability to prepare clear, concise reports and documents.
• Strong written and verbal communication; commitment to equity, inclusion & diversity.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain staffing models and coverage strategies.
• Set and enforce performance expectations for service excellence.
• Oversee patient access operations including scheduling and front-desk functions.
• Drive workflow optimization to improve efficiency and patient experience.
• Align staffing and patient flow with clinical leadership across departments.
• Oversee onboarding timelines and performance standards for PSRs.
• Track KPIs such as no-show rates, schedule utilization, wait times, and front-end revenue.
• Oversee front-end revenue cycle processes and insurance verification.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and audit readiness; collaborate on site leadership initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
