Job summary

Temecula Valley Hospital is seeking a Patient Access Coordinator to manage patient registrations, collect accurate demographic and financial information, and ensure correct room placement. The role involves verifying benefits, obtaining authorizations, and coordinating HDX reports for applicable accounts.

The candidate will work in a hospital admissions environment with emphasis on accuracy, efficiency, and customer service, requiring strong communication skills and basic computer proficiency.

Qualifications

• One-year experience in a hospital admitting or medical business office, with computer experience preferred.
• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• CPI Certification within the first 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and non-verbally.
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact diplomatically and to maintain a professional demeanor with physicians, the public and hospital staff at all times.
• Ability to discuss personal and financial matters with patients and/or their representatives.
• Good problem solving and process efficiency skills.
• Knowledge of insurance benefits, covered services and collection procedures for all insurance programs for acute facilities.
• General knowledge of office procedures and ability to utilize resources in an organized manner.
• Type 35-40 words per minute.
• Knowledge of computer keyboard.

Education

High School graduate or equivalent

CPI Certification within 90 days
