Job summary

Texas Children’s Hospital is seeking a Patient Access Representative to ensure timely and accurate patient registration while coordinating with families, payers, and hospital teams.

The role requires a high school diploma, and a preference for 6 months of admissions experience. An associate or bachelor’s degree may substitute for experience, supporting growth within a busy admissions setting.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required.
• 6 months experience as an admissions representative/counselor performing all aspects of the registration process preferred.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the experience.

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately and timely, validating demographic information and insurance data.
• Serve as liaison between patients, families, payers, Medical Records, PFS and the health care team.
• Obtain/verify complete demographic information and secure out-of-pocket payments from guarantors.
• Ensure compliance with EMTALA, The Joint Commission and hospital/government regulations relevant to Admissions.
• Identify patients eligible for government resources or charity programs and refer to a financial counselor.
