Job summary

Texas Children’s is seeking a Patient Access Representative- Mobile to ensure timely and accurate patient registration and to act as a liaison among patients, payers, and hospital departments. Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months experience as admissions representative/counselor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtains, verifies, and enters complete and accurate demographic information on all accounts to facilitate smooth processing through the revenue cycle.
• Financially secures all patient accounts to maximize hospital reimbursement in a customer service-oriented fashion.
• Maximizes the efficiency and accuracy of the collection process by pursuing collections at the time of service.
• Provides complete and accurate documentation on each visit to ensure compliance with hospital and government regulations.
• Provides continuous support of process improvements through data compilation, monitoring and evaluation of departmental roles, and proposals for process improvement initiatives.
• Obtains signatures for release of information, consent, financial responsibility forms, and other required paperwork as measured by audits.
• Reviews and scans insurance cards to ensure information matches the patient accounting system.
