Job summary

Rome Health is seeking a full-time Patient Access Advisor to join our healthcare team. This role serves as the first point of contact for patients, handling accurate registration, insurance verification, and financial clearance while delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities include verifying eligibility, obtaining authorizations, collecting payments, and scheduling appointments. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience in a hospital, ambulatory, or medical office setting preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and collaborate in a team.
• Basic clinical and computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately and collect demographic and insurance information.
• Explain required forms and obtain patient signatures.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits; document prior authorizations.
• Obtain or validate authorizations for scheduled procedures, including high-cost medications.
• Validate medical necessity for ordered services.
• Collect patient co-pays, deductibles, and other payments at point of service.
• Ensure physician orders are complete and compliant with hospital policies.
• Maintain accurate patient records per regulations and policies.
• Deliver compassionate, professional customer service to patients and families.
• Schedule outpatient appointments and procedures; coordinate with providers and departments; provide instructions.
