Job summary

Rogers Behavioral Health in Wisconsin seeks an Intake Specialist to welcome patients, gather medical and insurance details, educate about admissions, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team. You will document in Cerner, explain forms, maintain HIPAA compliance, and support smooth transitions to the appropriate program, including crisis de-escalation when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• CPR certification within 30 days of hire; re-certification as required.
• Training in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) within 60 days of hire; annual recertification.
• Strong communication skills and ability to document accurately.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and caregivers and educate them about admissions.
• Gather, confirm and input medical, insurance and demographic information.
• Explain all admissions forms and obtain required signatures.
• Register patients in the Cerner system and ensure proper document labeling.
• Coordinate with the multi-disciplinary team for appropriate level of care.
• Assist in on-call coverage and support weekend rotations.
• Maintain HIPAA compliant documentation and assist with third-party reviews.
