Job summary

Gulfside Healthcare Services is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to coordinate referrals from initial contact to admission, acting as the primary in-office contact via telephone and ensuring timely processing.

The role requires healthcare experience, strong communication, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Shifts are three 12-hour days (8a-8p) with Saturday coverage every 7 weeks.

Qualifications

• CNA experience preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting required.
• Clinical sales experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures accurate and timely entry of patient’s referrals in all business lines.
• Receives all incoming referrals and requests supporting documentation to facilitate the referral-to-admission process.
• Initiates, updates, and completes assigned patient referrals by documenting patient information in the electronic health record.
• Referrals to be sent to Care Coordinator or covering staff within 15 minutes of referral receipt.
• Maintains records of Admission and Referral Logs and updates them daily.
• Assists with entering Home Health and palliative referrals as needed.
• Rotating holiday coverage as assigned, minimum of two holiday shifts per year.
