Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Four (4) years of progressive experience in health care operations or patient access.
• Preferred: Associate's degree.
• Five (5) years of progressive experience in health care operations or patient access.
• Prior supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee patient access activities for inpatient and outpatient services (pre-registration, insurance verification, authorization, referral management, notification, registration, collections, denial mitigation).
• Manage team to achieve department and unit goals.
• Develop and implement new programs to improve patient access services and efficiency.
• Maintain and update patient access policies and procedures.
• Communicate with staff, supervisors and director to address issues and share feedback.
• Create training plans and support staff development across the department.
• Collaborate with internal departments to optimize processes and teamwork.
• Investigate denials, analyze root causes, and develop corrective action plans with the Director.
• Assist in budget planning and monthly expense tracking and ensure budget compliance.
• Schedule staff to meet operational needs and ensure fair coverage.
• Conduct annual evaluations and performance improvement plans for staff.
