Job summary

CHI Williston Health, now part of CommonSpirit Health, seeks a Patient Access Team Lead to coordinate operations across hospital access areas including ED, main registration, and admitting. You will guide staff, resolve complex issues, and uphold service quality and policy adherence.

The role requires deep patient access expertise, problem-solving, and coaching skills to support relationship-based care and our mission and values.

Qualifications

Associates degree required at hire.
3–5 years of patient access/registration experience.
Experience leading patient access or registration teams.
Experience in ED, main registration or admitting workflows.

Responsibilities

Provide real-time operational oversight and workflow coordination for patient access activities across assigned hospital access areas.
Coordinate daily work assignments, task distribution, and area coverage to support patient flow and service standards.
Serve as the first point of escalation for complex registration, insurance verification, authorization, and financial issues.
Perform complex patient registration, insurance verification, authorization, and financial clearance activities.
Communicate patient financial responsibility, payment options, and available financial assistance resources.
Provide guidance and coaching to Patient Access Representatives, Financial Counselors, and Eligibility staff.
