• Obtains, confirms, and enters demographic, financial, and clinical information for financial clearance.
• Contacts patients’ families or physicians’ offices to obtain missing insurance information.
• Verifies insurance and confirms eligibility; notifies patient and referring physician if eligibility fails.
• Collaborates with scheduling to identify add-on patients.
• Obtains authorizations, pre-certifications, and referrals.
• Notifies patients of liabilities before service date and collects funds.
• Maintains records and accurate documentation in the system of record.
• Serves as a lead resource for lower-level Patient Services staff.
• Recommends new approaches to management for enhancing performance and productivity.
• Responds to technical issues from patients, physicians, and staff via multiple channels.
• Works independently under heavy workload and stress.
