Job summary

Central City Concern is seeking a Client Access Specialist II in Portland to register patients, verify demographics and insurance, and coordinate referrals within an integrated services clinic. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure accurate, timely communication and smooth front-desk operations.

The role requires health or social service background, familiarity with electronic health records, and a customer-first approach.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in a medical office or administrative support role and 1 year in medical insurance, authorizations, and referrals; or 2 years in a high-volume public contact role with insurance experience.
  • Medical background (CNA, MA) preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with electronic health records.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen, TB test, and background check; CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Greets and registers patients for medical care.
  • Verifies patient demographics and insurance information.
  • Verifies Insurance Eligibility & Benefits for all payers using approved system.
  • Uses problem-solving skills to verify patient identification to minimize duplicate medical records.
  • Maintains knowledge of CCC services/benefits and relevant healthcare laws.
  • Input and track all referrals in EMR system.
