Southcoast Health in Fairhaven, MA is seeking a Patient Access Intake Representative to facilitate patient access across Urgent Care and related sites. The role supports registration, scheduling, and insurance information collection to ensure accurate data and timely reimbursement. Strong communication and computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for patient interactions.
• Strong computer skills with familiarity in medical-based programs.
• Experience in healthcare settings and with insurance/payer processes is a plus.

We are searching for a talented Patient Access Intake Representative

Hours: 32hrs

Shift: Day/Evening shift, Monday - Friday 8:00am - 8:30pm, Saturday - Sunday 9:00am - 5:30pm with weekend and holiday rotation

Location: Urgent Care - Fairhaven, MA. Urgent Care team members are expected to rotate across Urgent Care sites as needed. Locations include: Lakeville, Fall River, Seekonk, Dartmouth, Fairhaven, Taunton and Wareham.

**Available to regular status employees who are scheduled to work a minimum of 24 hours.

Position reports to the Manager, Urgent Care. Perform a wide variety of duties to facilitate patient access throughout the organization. Ensure patient compliance with applicable SPG policy and obtains accurate patient information to insure patient safety and optimal reimbursement to the organization in accordance with various external regulations. Determine and actively collect patient liabilities. Sign Biomedical waste manifest receipt when vendor picks up waste. Required to work weekends and Holidays. Expected to stay later than scheduled if a patient checks in close to closing time.

• Equal to completion of four years of high school plus additional courses or training required; Associates Degree preferred.
• Demonstrate very good communication & interpersonal skills.
• Strong computer skills including medical based programs.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and other software programs preferred.
• Over three years related health care experience including working with third party payers preferred.
• Complete state approved biomedical waste training required to sign waste manifest documents within 90 days of hire.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
