Job summary

Southcoast Health System, Inc. is seeking a Patient Access Intake Representative in Wareham, MA. The role operates 40 hours with day/evening shifts and weekend/holiday rotation, supporting patient access across the organization.

You will manage patient information, verify eligibility, collect liabilities, and ensure compliance with hospital policies while supporting accurate reimbursement and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Completion of four years of high school plus additional courses or training; Associates Degree preferred.
• Medical Terminology Certificate required.
• Demonstrated communication & interpersonal skills are required.
• Strong computer skills including medical-based programs required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word and Excel, and other software programs is preferred.
• Three (3) years related health care experience including working with third party payers is required.
• CHAM or CHAA certification preferred.
• Medical Terminology Certificate required.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID-19 or approved exemption with signed statement.

Responsibilities

• Under general direction of the Manager, Patient Access and supervision of the Team Leader, Patient Access, perform duties to facilitate patient access.
• Ensure patient information accuracy to insure safety and optimal reimbursement in accordance with external regulations.
• Determine and actively collect patient liabilities.

We are searching for a talented Patient Access Intake Representative

Hours: 40hrs

Shift: Day/Evening shift, 7:00am - 3:30pm, 10:30am - 7:00pm with weekend and holiday rotation

Location: Tobey Hospital - Wareham, MA

**Available to regular status employees who are scheduled to work a minimum of 24 hours.

Insure patient compliance with applicable hospital policy and obtain accurate patient information to insure patient safety and optimal reimbursement to the organization in accordance with various external regulations. Determine and actively collect patient liabilities.

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
