Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking an Intake Specialist to support patient access to care by coordinating referrals, reviewing clinical documentation, and ensuring services are set up accurately.

In this fast-paced healthcare environment, you will work with patients, providers, and internal teams to navigate insurance requirements, confirm eligibility, and move the intake process forward efficiently. Prior experience and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• One year of relatable work experience is required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s degree in Healthcare Administration or related field is preferred.
• Experience in administration, billing, claims, insurance, call center, or customer service is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review referrals, clinical documentation, and payer guidelines to determine eligibility and readiness for service.
• Communicate with patients about financial responsibilities and document interactions.
• Coordinate with referrals, physicians, and clinical teams to obtain complete documentation.
• Navigate insurance requirements and ensure proper intake setup and scheduling.
• Enter referrals within established timeframes while maintaining productivity and quality.
