Job summary

IU Health is seeking a part-time Patient Access Coordinator to support multiple hospital locations in Indianapolis. You will help register patients, schedule appointments, verify insurance, obtain prior authorizations, and coordinate benefits to ensure accurate billing and smooth patient flow.

Responsibilities include answering calls, directing visitors, maintaining records, and participating in safety and quality initiatives across IU Health Methodist, University, and Saxony locations.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years of customer service/medical office experience preferred.
• Basic familiarity with insurance verification and medical terminology.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, TEAMS).

Responsibilities

• Oversee patient flow from entry to destination with timely, accurate service.
• Register patients and schedule recurring appointments; handle calls and direct visitors.
• Perform insurance verification, prior authorizations, and coordination of benefits.
• Communicate with payers and patients to ensure accurate financial information.
• Maintain department safety, infection control, and compliance programs.
