Job summary

Washburn Center For Children in Minneapolis seeks a Patient Access Coordinator to verify insurance, obtain authorizations, and assist families with benefits and eligibility for the sliding fee program.

You will enter financial information in the EHR, communicate with families about accounts and coverage, and collaborate with clinicians and the Billing team to minimize delays in services.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience with an electronic health record (EHR) system or in a health care setting.
• Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage the insurance verification process for clients in assigned programs.
• Verify client insurance coverage and benefits.
• Secure authorization for services as needed.
• Enter financial review information and insurance authorizations into the EHR.
• Update client charts for uninsured workflow and complete data integrity projects.
• Communicate insurance results and forward paperwork to clinicians.
• Assist with client accounts, including calls and payment arrangements.
• Back up the Patient Access Lead and participate in Billing team meetings.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
