Qualifications

• High School Diploma; an Associates degree or equivalent is preferred.
• 1–3 years experience in Registration, Billing or Managed Care Organization work environment.
• Knowledge of Hospital Medical Staff rules and infection control policies.
• Analytical skills to make decisions based on clinical and facility needs.
• Epic, Passport, OnBase, Midas and MS Office systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyze patient accounts; evaluate financial data for establishment of current accounts and documents comments to reflect actions taken regarding accounts to maximize reimbursement.
• Initiates on-line verification of third party Insurance Carriers and Plan Administrators to verify patient benefits.
• Coordinates patients in need of financial assistance to pay for present and/or future services to appropriate Financial Counselor.
• Interviews patients and obtains, verifies and enters into database complete and accurate demographic and financial information.
• Answers inquiries concerning hospital policies and assists patients with financial plan and coverage questions.
