Valle del Sol in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Verification Coordinator to support insurance eligibility verification and patient access to care within our Revenue Cycle Management team. The role emphasizes precise data entry, clear communication, and effective use of the NextGen system.

You will verify AHCCCS, Medicare, and commercial plans, assist with prior authorizations, and help patients understand their financial responsibilities while collaborating with clinical/operational teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of billing/insurance verification or related healthcare administration experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance eligibility for AHCCCS, Medicare, and commercial plans.
• Maintain accurate patient demographic and insurance information in NextGen.
• Assist with prior authorizations and coordination of benefits.
• Support patients to understand insurance coverage and out-of-pocket costs.
• Review financial documentation for Sliding Fee Scale eligibility.
• Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to ensure continuity of care.
• Help uninsured or underinsured patients access grant-funded services.
• Support revenue cycle functions including billing, denials management, and payment posting.
• Contact patients regarding PCP updates and insurance changes.
