Qualifications

• One year of customer service experience, medical environment preferred.
• Knowledge of health insurance benefits and patient financial responsibility.
• Ability to learn multiple IT platforms and explain benefits to patients.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, referrers, insurance providers, and billing offices.

Responsibilities

• Answer all incoming calls promptly and courteously; redirect to appropriate contact.
• Verify insurance coverage and determine patient financial responsibility.
• Collect Co-pays and update patient demographics accurately.
• Obtain pre-authorization/medical necessity for procedures.
• Register patients for procedures using Center’s IT systems and schedule appointments.
• Ensure HIPAA-compliant release of PHI and proper release of information.
• Process mail, payments, and set up payment plans as needed.
• Assist with training of new staff under Center Director guidance.
