Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to support Medicare compliance reviews, determine patient financial responsibility, and handle insurance verifications. You will coordinate with multiple teams to ensure pre-authorizations and accurate patient registration.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year in a customer service role, preferably in healthcare.
• Familiarity with insurance benefits and billing processes.
• Ability to learn and use EMR systems and standard office software.

Responsibilities

• Perform Medicare compliance reviews and process NBNNs as needed.
• Estimate patient financial responsibility and manage collections or payment plans.
• Coordinate with utilization management for pre-authorization issues.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain pre-authorizations within timeframes.
• Register patients accurately and minimize duplicate records.
• Collect demographic data and confirm insurance details.
• Provide coverage for PBX and cashiering duties as required.
• Maintain excellent customer service and document conversations with payers.
• Participate in department meetings and promote team communication.
