Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a patient access clerk to create the first impression for patients arriving for services. You will perform scheduling, registration, and admission tasks, verify insurance information, and collect or estimate patient financial responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High School/GED or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience operating a PC and using software applications.
• One previous year of related experience, preferably within a medical setting, financial services setting, and/or a demanding customer service environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs scheduling, registration, and admitting functions at bedside; verifies insurance information and collects necessary data to bill.
• Identifies patient financial responsibilities, calculates estimates, and posts payments in the ADT system.
• Delivers a positive patient experience and maintains professional relationships with patients and staff.
• Maintains confidentiality and accurate registration during system downtime; supports evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Responds to inquiries from patients and visitors while upholding AHN policies and privacy regulations.
• Completes mandatory training and adheres to AHN policies.
