Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a Patient Registrar at The Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI. Under supervision, you interview and register patients for inpatient, observation, ED and outpatient visits, collecting demographics and insurance data and entering it into the hospital system.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Greets and directs patients and collects third party insurance information.
• Registers patients into the hospital information system and verifies demographic data.
• Obtains referrals and ensures PCP matches records; communicates with insurers as needed.
• Collects co-pays, explains payment policies and records transactions per policy.
• Coordinates with Patient Financial Advocates to setup payment plans as required.
• Prepares documentation for admission, discharge and financial clearance.
