Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One year of related experience preferred, especially in medical, financial services or customer service settings.
• Experience operating a PC and using software applications.

Responsibilities

• Performs scheduling and preregistration tasks, verifies demographic and benefits data, and ensures accurate data for billing.
• Verifies insurance information with payors and coordinates with physician offices and payors on authorizations and referrals.
• Identifies patient financial responsibilities, estimates costs, collects payments, and handles daily reconciliations.
• Delivers a positive patient experience and maintains strong working relationships with AHN staff and external contacts.
• Strives for productivity standards and participates in training as required.
• Adheres to AHN policies and performs other duties as assigned.
