Job summary

The Christ Hospital is seeking a Patient Access/Revenue Cycle Clerk to collect and verify patient demographics and financial information. You will verify insurance benefits, document data in systems, and coordinate with the Financial Counselor to arrange payment plans and assistance where needed.

The role requires 1–3 years in Registration/Billing or a related area, with a High School Diploma (Associate degree preferred).

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma; Associate degree preferred or equivalent.
1-3 years experience in Registration, Billing, Customer Service, or Managed Care Organization work environment.
Knowledge of hospital financial workflows and payer requirements.
Ability to use third party payor systems for eligibility and verification.
Able to explain patient rights and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Analyze patient accounts; maximize reimbursement and reflect actions taken.
Verify and document demographics and financial information for encounters.
Initiate online verification of third-party Insurance Carriers and Plan Administrators.
Notify staff when patients present with critical conditions.
Coordinate patients needing financial assistance with Financial Counselor.
Prepare charts and documentation for Medicare compliance and payer requirements.
Communicate effectively to meet customer service goals.
