Job summary

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills including word processing and data entry.
• Familiarity with office equipment such as fax/copier.
• Mathematical skills for billing and payments.
• Registration and scheduling experience preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to collect demographic and financial data.
• Verify insurance and initiate pre-certification when needed.
• Collect payments and maintain cash logs and daily deposits.
• Prepare and distribute reports and patient identification items.
• Explain estimated patient financial responsibility to patients.
• Refer patients to payment programs or financial assistance as needed.
• Follow HIPAA guidelines for patient information.
