Qualifications

• High School Diploma; associates degree preferred or equivalent.
• 1–3 years in Registration, Billing, Customer Service or MCO work environment.
• Knowledge of Hospital Medical Staff rules and infection control policies.
• Computer literacy across multiple systems.
• Proficiency with Epic, Passport, OnBase, Midas and MS Office.
• Understanding health insurance coverage and verification processes.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities, even under stress.

Responsibilities

• Analyze patient accounts to maximize reimbursement and reflect actions taken.
• Verify insurance coverage and assign primary/secondary payer as needed.
• Obtain and document complete demographic and financial information.
• Enter insurance details on the account and ensure medical necessity guidelines are met.
• Coordinate referrals and financial assistance with Financial Counselor.
• Handle MSPQ questionnaires and Medicare compliance documentation.
• Answer calls from physician offices and hospital staff with professional service.
• Maintain productivity standards and accuracy in registrations.
