Job summary

Winslow Indian Health Center (WIHCC) seeks a Patient Access Representative to collect and coordinate patient demographic and insurance information, ensuring accurate registration and eligibility for health services.

The role supports multiple departments, uses RPMS and EHR systems, and requires strong customer service, confidentiality, and adherence to privacy laws while assisting with scheduling across clinics.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One to two years clerical or customer service experience.
• Basic medical terminology and computer proficiency.
• CPR certification within three months of hire.
• Bilingual English and Navajo language highly recommended.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients to obtain registration information including demographics and insurance details.
• Determines patient eligibility per Indian Health Services and Purchased Referred Care guidelines.
• Collects insurance cards, explains billing processes for services.
• Uses RPMS, EHR, and VISTA Imaging to update and verify patient data for billing.
• Verifies AHCCCS and Medicare daily.
• Provides scheduling for designated clinics and conveys eligibility information.
