Job summary

Beacon Health System is seeking a dedicated Registration Associate to admit and register patients for services in a professional manner. You will verify insurance, collect co-pays, and ensure accurate data entry into the financial system using Pathways, RelayHealth, and Cerner.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 17 years of age.
• A minimum of one year of previous hospital or medical office experience is preferred.
• A medical terminology course must be successfully completed during the first year of employment.
• Associate degree preferred.
• CHAA certification is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect demographic, physician and insurance information.
• Verify insurance coverage and perform pre-certification activities as needed.
• Collect co-pays and deductibles and post payments to patient accounts.
• Input patient data into the financial system and maintain accurate records.
• Explain pre-certification requirements to patients and obtain signatures on required forms.
• Coordinate with Financial Counselors or Eligibility Specialists for payment arrangements when needed.
• Maintain records and perform clerical duties to support department operations.
