Job summary

Franciscan Health Lafayette East Campus is seeking a Patient Access Representative I to manage preregistration, registration, patient financial counseling, and co-payment collections. You will collect demographics and financial information needed for medical records and billing.

You will coordinate with medical staff and revenue cycle teams to ensure smooth patient flow, accurate data entry, HIPAA compliance, and respectful communication with patients and their families.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Professional/Vocational/Trade Training required.
• Associate’s Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patient and family to obtain registration information and enters data accurately.
• Enter insurance policy numbers, group numbers, addresses and billing data.
• Verifies and collects patient liabilities, counsels on payer waivers, and processes co-payments.
• Identify co-payment procedures and fiscal procedures related to registration.
• Complete computer and telephone pre-registrations to maintain patient flow.
